Cohere speeds model serving with a single 'megakernel.' Software optimization is intended to reduce inference cost

Cohere described a new way to serve its North Mini Code model on Nvidia H100 graphics processors. Instead of chaining many small compute kernels, it combines the decoding phase into one 'megakernel.' In tests on a single H100, it achieved up to about a 1.3x speedup over vLLM with a batch of eight requests; the solution still has several operational limitations.
