Autonomous AI in supply chains is advancing slowly. Millions of dollars alone will not create readiness

Gartner expects that by 2030 only five percent of organizations implementing supply-chain planning automation will allow AI to make at least one tenth of planning decisions autonomously. Yet 83 percent of the large companies surveyed have already spent at least $3 million on planning automation, including AI. The main obstacle is not money, but data quality, accountability for decisions, people’s skills and process readiness.
