The global nuclear industry is poised for a pivotal year in 2026, according to World Nuclear Association Director General Sama Bilbao y León. In a recent World Nuclear News podcast interview, she emphasised the need to shift from long-term ambitions to concrete actions — particularly through final investment decisions and deployment of new nuclear projects. Strengthening finance mechanisms, engaging private investors, and addressing supply-chain bottlenecks are high on the Association's agenda, with the upcoming World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference in Manila set to highlight both opportunities and constraints in meeting growing nuclear demand.
