Research involving 416 leaders in the US and UK shows that 41 percent of neurodivergent professionals had told no one at work about their neurodivergence, and fewer than one in five had disclosed it to HR. Many nevertheless perform well. The problem arises when a company treats one style of communication and behavior as the universal image of a good leader. Leadership development can then overlook capable people while forcing them into exhausting adaptation.
