Common ways of wasting energy involve habits, situations or mindsets that have an effect on us.
Addiction to the internet
The internet and other passive media are often responsible for draining us. An endless stream of communication creates stress; however, spending long periods on social media and other online activities can be equally as stressful, especially if this distracts us from our primary tasks and activities that are truly important. If we mindlessly watch television or online streams, it is by no means uncommon to end up feeling bad.
Poor time management
If you are not as effective as you should be in setting priorities, you may just have discovered the cause of your fatigue. Deciding what is important and what is not becomes a problem; sticking to any schedule is complicated. You are unable or unwilling to set limits where you should and you may actually be devoting your precious time to other people’s priorities.
However, time management is a highly individual issue. According to an article at management-issues.com, originally published by the INSEAD business school, some executives suffer because they lack structure in their lives, while others feel their lives are overstructured and offer little time and freedom for energy-providing endeavours.
Too high expectations
Perhaps you are just trying to please everyone. Or maybe your own perfectionism makes you excessively tough on yourself and you are unable to accept your own mistakes and shortcomings. Which, however, is something you should do in order to allow yourself to grow and develop.
